01 Claude Code handoff

The AI visibility tracker: see who ChatGPT recommends to your buyers

Paste one file into Claude Code. It writes your buyers' questions, asks ChatGPT in a real Chrome window, and scores how often you get named, who gets named instead and which sites the answers cite.

Markdown handoff · 1 file · 2 scripts intermediate Free · No upsell

02 The leak

If this sounds familiar, the claude code handoff is for you.

01

A buyer asks ChatGPT who to hire, and three competitors get named while you have no idea where you stand.

02

You checked once in your own account, but your history shapes that answer, so it tells you little about what a stranger sees.

03

ChatGPT cites a handful of lists and blog posts for your category, and you can't see which ones.

03 What's inside

A working system, not a prompt.

Each piece extracted from a live engine — same prompts, same scaffolding, same rules.

  • 01
12 buyer questions written from your own website, in your buyer's words and location, with your brand name kept out of every one
  • 02
A browser runner that types each question into ChatGPT signed out, waits for the full answer and saves the text, every cited link and a screenshot
  • 03
A scorer that turns a run into a report: mention rate, your position when named, share of voice, cited domains and how much answers move between asks
  • 04
A run prompt for live checks: three questions asked on screen, the H1 of every cited page, target keywords from those pages and three moves for your site
  • 05
Safe defaults: one question at a time, a pause between asks, a hard stop at any robot check and a resume that skips answers already saved
04 Audience

Built for a specific operator. Not for everyone.

Who it's for
  • Founders and marketers who want to know whether ChatGPT names their business when a buyer asks for a recommendation
  • SEO and content leads who need the sites ChatGPT cites for their category, so they know which pages to write and which lists to get on
  • Agencies already using Claude Code who want a repeatable monthly AI visibility check for their own brand first, then for clients
Probably not for you if
  • Anyone after a hosted dashboard. The tracker runs on your machine, from a terminal, and writes plain files
  • Teams that need thousands of prompts a day. It asks one question at a time, about a hundred asks a month
  • Businesses with no website yet. The questions and the moves are built from the pages you already have
05 How it works

How it works

How to check if ChatGPT recommends your business

Ask the question your buyer would type, in their words, for their location, with your brand left out. Ask it in a signed-out session so memory and history play no part, save the full answer, and note every brand it names and the order they appear in. The tracker does exactly this for 12 questions at a time and keeps every answer as a file you can reread.

Mention rate and share of voice in AI answers

Mention rate is the share of answered asks that name your brand. Share of voice counts, for every brand ChatGPT names, how many asks named it, so you see who owns your category in AI answers and by how much. Both are scored over repeated asks of the same question, with a stability score per question that shows how much the answers move.

Finding the sites ChatGPT cites for your category

Every link in every answer is saved with its domain, then counted across the run. The live run prompt reads the H1 of each cited page and turns the blog posts and case studies into target keywords, so the output is a short list: the page to write, the list to get on and the question you are missing from.

07 · FAQ

Common questions

What is a Claude Code handoff file?

A single markdown file that gives Claude Code everything it needs to build something with you. Open a terminal in any folder, run claude, fill in the short "Your business" block and paste the file. Claude writes your questions, checks them with you, then builds and tests the tracker.

Do I need an OpenAI API key?

No. The tracker asks ChatGPT in a real Chrome window, signed out, so it records the answer a new visitor sees in the app. You need Claude Code, Google Chrome, Node.js 18 or newer and Python 3. Firecrawl and the Ahrefs MCP are optional extras for the live run prompt.

Why ask each question three times?

ChatGPT answers the same question differently from one ask to the next. The score is "named in X of N asks", and a stability column shows how alike the brand lists were across asks, so one lucky or unlucky answer never decides the result.

What happens if ChatGPT shows a robot check?

The run stops for that surface and saves the status. Nothing in the tracker tries to get past a check. It asks one question at a time with a pause between asks, and a full monthly run is about a hundred asks.
